MegaPath Corporation – headquartered in Pleasanton, California - operates one of the largest end-to-end communications networks in the United States. MegaPath was founded in 1996. In 2010, MegaPath combined with Speakeasy (ISP) and Covad to form a single company – which continued to be named MegaPath - providing a full range of data, voice, security and hosted IT services for small, medium and enterprise businesses nationwide, as well as wholesale solutions to the carrier and service-provider markets.
MegaPath remains a privately held company.
MegaPath offers business-class connectivity including private DSL, T1, Bonded T1, DS3, Ethernet, wireless and cable. In 2012, MegaPath completed an aggressive nationwide Ethernet over Copper (EoC) network expansion, solidifying its position as the largest EoC provider in the United States. The MegaPath network is a nationwide, MPLS-enabled, all-optical IP network that provides last mile connection, multi-layered security, and redundancy.
MegaPath’s MPLS VPN
[edit]MPLS (Multiprotocol Label Switching) is recognized as the industry leader in private wide area networking (WAN) technology. MPLS blends the performance and privacy of legacy WAN technologies—such as frame relay—with the flexibility and cost advantages of Internet-based networks; such as IPSec VPNs. For more than 10 years, MegaPath has supported distributed enterprise users across 20,000 customer sites and 70,000 endpoints with MPLS VPN services. A MegaPath MPLS Site-to-Site VPN is well-suited for dynamic, challenging network environments because MPLS acts as the smart traffic engineer, controlling at the packet level.
MegaPath’s all-optical nationwide network and MPLS routing infrastructure ensure business-critical applications like Voice over IP (VoIP) and enterprise applications are prioritized for Quality of Service (QoS).
MegaPath’s Voice Services
[edit]MegaPath offers nationwide Hosted Voice solutions for single-site and multi-site businesses. Its Voice services support advanced calling features including Find Me/Follow Me, Visual Voicemail, and Mobility. MegaPath Hosted Voice eliminates the costs and complexity of managing and maintaining a PBX. Its SIP Trunking and Enterprise Trunking services enable customers to gain the features of VoIP while leveraging their existing PBX equipment.
MegaPath’s Network Security Services
[edit]MegaPath offers three different security options:
-Private Networking. A secure and cost-effective method — often using an SSL connection — for connecting a geographically distributed workforce. -Unified Threat Management. A consolidated, dynamic approach to network security. -Compliance Services. A cloud-based option that solves log, vulnerability, and security information management issues.
MegaPath’s Cloud Services
[edit]MegaPath Cloud Hosting services are on-net to their OC-192 backbone and MPLS VPN. MegaPath Cloud Hosting services can be configured to support any sized business or enterprise – from hosting a single server to hundreds of servers.
Enterprise Cloud MegaPath Enterprise Cloud is a fully virtualized and secure environment with high-availability, dedicated resource pools, and a high-performance infrastructure powered by VMware vCloud Datacenter.
Private Cloud MegaPath Private Cloud provides businesses with a secure, redundant, and scalable virtualized computing solution on their own dedicated hardware with built-in failover.
Hybrid Cloud MegaPath Hybrid Cloud enables customers to provision virtual servers and physical servers on the same network, providing the ability to optimize performance and support licensing requirements of certain in-house applications with the fault tolerance and scalability of cloud-based services.
