About me

I am Aditya Kumar, an active contributor to the Wikimedia ecosystem and a passionate technology enthusiast. I currently serve as a Core Team Member of the Google Developer Group Prayagraj and actively contribute to Wikimedia projects.

I’ve participated in several hackathons and tech events where I’ve shared my work, connected with other contributors, and learned from the community.

My work

I’ve contributed to over 10 projects in the MediaWiki ecosystem, which has helped me grow as an open-source contributor and collaborate with experienced developers and mentors. I also had the opportunity to present my work at the Wikimedia office in Gurgaon and have been invited to hackathons and community events.

Here’s one of the key projects I worked on:

Project: indic-wsstats tool

Description: This tool is useful for contributors working on Wikisource. Initially, it stored statistics in a flat JSON file. I helped migrate these stats to a MySQL database, improving durability and enabling efficient querying.

Tasks: Migrated statistics from the file system to a MySQL database using SQLAlchemy and Flask, with automatic database table creation.

Phabricator Task: T376373

Patch: Pull Request

Tech Stack:

  1. Python
  2. Flask
  3. SQLAlchemy
  4. MySQL

Apart from this, I’ve contributed to various MediaWiki-related tasks tracked on the RoadToWiki Workboard.
