Abda60 was stationed at LA-78 Nike missile site from 1958 to 1961. I worked as a missile crewman and a Aquisition radar, Mtr operator and a TTR operator. I editted the Nike:Rocket page (LA-78) to correct the Sandy Peak address oversight. The IFC area was never at Sandy Peak. The IFC Area was located on Via Taz St. , off Piuma Rd. When I talk to others who were stationed there, we laugh at how the US Government will go to extensive means to make a location appear as though it never existed. Kinda reminded us of Weapons of Mass Destruction. When you and a group of soldiers drive to a location every day for about three years, it is kinda difficult for someone who has NEVER been there to tell us that the location we drove to never existed. Both the Launch/Admin area and the IFC Area have been revamped by an outstanding LA County Fire Department.
