ARRB Systems was established in 2017 following the spin-off of the equipment and international operation divisions from the Australian Road Research Board. The company's origins trace back to the early years of the Board, when equipment development began as a means of testing research theories in a practical context. This led to the commercialization of survey systems in the early 1990s, with international sales commencing shortly thereafter. The Hawkeye platform, first released in 1994, serves as the foundation for the majority of the company's current products and software.
One of ARRB Systems' recent technological developments is the intelligent Pavement Assessment Vehicle (iPAVe), a system capable of high-speed data collection for both functional and structural pavement assessments, with subsequent analysis conducted through Hawkeye software.
