Article Evaluation Exercise

Exercise: Evaluation Wikipedia

Article: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canadian_Conservation_Institute

  • Evaluating content:

Anything distracting? No.

Info out of place? The 2nd reference entry seems odd and does not have a link to the source.

Anything missing? The page could have an “infobox” with image of CCI building, address, etc.

Improvements? Yes.

The “Programs” section could be reviewed to see if updated information is available since the main citation is from 1996 and the link is broken.

The “External Links” section has a broken link to the CCI. Here is the correct one: https://www.canada.ca/en/conservation-institute.html

  • Evaluating tone:

Neutral? Yes.

Heavily biased claims? No.

Viewpoints that are overrepresented or underrepresented? No.

  • Evaluating sources:

Do the links work? As previously stated, the “External Links” section has a broken link to the CCI. In addition, the 4th reference entry’s link is broken.

Reliability? Yes, as the references are from organizations (e.g. museums, Canadian government websites, etc.) that are connected to the topic and are reliable sources of information. The only reference that I was unsure of at first was the 6th reference entry, which is a new article on the CBC website. After glimpsing over article, it does not have a bias and so, in my opinion, is a reliable reference.

Neutral? Yes.

Biased? No.

  • Talk Page:

Conversations? None.

Rate? Stub-class on the project’s quality scale and low-importance on the project’s importance scale.

WikiProjects? Yes, the WikiProject Canada

Discussion of this topic? I do not understand this question.
