UNDO FELLOWSHIP

The purpose of UNDO FELLOWSHIP is to support collaborative research for radical practices in documentary filmmaking. For the inaugural year of the UNDO FELLOWSHIP, UnionDocs asked nominated writers and documentary artists to apply together, proposing a shared question to motivate their regular intellectual and creative exchange over the fellowship year. The applications opened on July 1, 2019 and closed on August 5, 2019. The fellowship will run from Fall 2019 to Fall 2020.

UnionDocs Center for Documentary Art has announced the selection of four pairs of artists and writers for the UNDO FELLOWSHIP on September 26, 2019 in Brooklyn, New York. Each fellow will receive $20,000 for their participation in the yearlong program. Funding for this program has been provided by the Ford Foundation’s JustFilms.

The fellowship will host a two-day symposium for artists, scholars, and students in Fall 2020. The works from each writer and artist will be presented, discussed, and screened. Invited guest panels, artists presentations, break out sessions and other activities will be organized to expand on the four motivating questions at the center of the fellowship.
