Samson Olaitan OLANREWAJU
Samson Olaitan ,OLANREWAJU MNITP RTP ( born 10 February 1989) is a Nigerian urban planner and academic who is a lecturer in Kebbi State University of Science and Technology, Aliero, Nigeria. He is also the current National Auditor of Nigerian Institute of Town Planners – Youth Forum[2]. The youth arm of the Nigeria Institute of Town Planners saddled with of promoting planning profession and interests among the youth and students. He is an environmental activists and has participated in various global environmental campains such as world Habitat day, World Environmental Day and World Urban Day.

Early Life and Education[edit]
Olanrewaju Samson was born in Osogbo, Osun State on the 10th of February 1989 to the family of Pastor and Lady Evangelist Timothy Olaloye Olanrewaju. He moved to Ile-Ife, where he attended Royal Kids Nursery and Primary School, and later Mustard Seed Children Centre Ondo Road, Modakeke. At the wake of Modakeke – Ife Crisi[1]s, He relocated to Ipaja, Lagos, where he joined Abesan Estate Primary School, Abesan Estate, for the completion of his primary Education. In 1999, upon writing his common entrance, he proceeded to Abesan High School, Abesan Estate[2], Ipaja where he had his Junior Secondary Education. Later in 2001, he moved to Aponmode Moniya High School, Moniya, Ibadan for the completion of his Junior Secondary Education. In 2003, he returned to Lagos, where he had his senior secondary education at Atlas College, Alimosho and later at Wetland Comprehensive College, Obadore, where he graduated in the year 2005. He proceeded to Ladoke Akintola University of Science and Technology, Ogbomoso, Oyo State where he graduated with a Bachelor of Technology Degree in Urban and Regional Planning in the year 2011. During his service year in 2012, he had his professional Diploma in Education with Ahmadu Bello University, and He returned for his Masters and Doctoral degree, both in Urban and Regional Planning for which he graduated in 2019 at the young age of 30 years, the first in the history of Urban Planning Education in Nigeria. He was elected as a cooperate membership of Nigeria Institute of Town Planners in the year 2016, Nigeria Environmental society in 2017, and also became a registered town planner with Town Planners Registration Council of Nigeria in thesame year.
Career [edit]
Olanrewaju started his career as a Geographic Information System instructor in the GIS laboratory of the Department of Urban and Regional Planning, Ladoke Akintola University of Science and Technology in year 2010. During his mandatory National Youth Service Corps, he worked with Sokoto State Urban and Regional Planning Board formerly referred to as Sokoto Urban Development Authority. In the year 2013, during his masters degree programme, he was appointed as a teaching assistant in the department of Urban and Regional Planning, Ladoke Akintola University of Science and Techology, Ogbomoso. In 2016, he moved to Adron Homes and Property, Abuja Zone, where he was the regional head of Town planning and Surveying Department. He started his private Urban Planning and Environmental Management Consulting firm, Ibudo Development and Environmental Consult Ltd [3], in the year 2018. In the year 2019, He joined the Department of Urban and Regional Planning, Kebbi State University of Science and Technology, Aliero Nigeria.
Research and Activism [edit]
Olanrewaju's area(s) of research interest is Landuse and Environmental Planning[4], Planning Advocacy and Geographic Information Systems. He has conducted several researches[5] as well as attended conferences in these specialized field of Urban Planning. He has collaborated with other researchers like Jelili Omoakin, Odunola Olutayo.
