Cold War alliances mid-1975.svg

[edit]

Using Cold War alliances mid-1975.svg map for this template was totally misleading: according to this map, for example, Switzerland and Sweden were third world countries. Would anyone agree to such claim? Third world referred to developing countries, not neutral countries. That's why I've added another map to the template to explain the difference between political and economic divisions. Netrat (talk) 07:54, 28 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Syria

[edit]

Syria should be gray, yeah it had close ties and alignment with the USSR (like Iraq Libya Egypt Algeria back then) but received substantial economic help from Saudi Arabia back in 1975, and most of its economic trade was done either with the European Union or the Arab world, more so than with the eastern bloc for sure. Btw, it had close ties with France, and from 1974-1979 also received US aid btw…. Derza luckyz (talk) 18:27, 7 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
