For more details, see Flag of Rwanda#1961–2001 flag, which I wrote with reliable sources as part of my successful GA rewrite. The previous sources were unreliable and the existing files, namely Flag of Rwanda (1961–1962).svg, are erroneously named and categorised. Yue🌙 22:38, 15 January 2025 (UTC)
- I don't think this can be done as proposed, because I think it would break flag usage in articles that use existing options, e.g. 1959. I could be wrong. Has there been discussion of these changes anywhere? – Jonesey95 (talk) 01:49, 16 January 2025 (UTC)
- @Jonesey95: There has been no discussion elsewhere (yet). Relevant actions were my GA research and approval, and my accepted requests to move the relevant files on Wikimedia Commons. Regarding the flag breakage, can I not just edit those articles' templates after-the-fact? Yue🌙 01:14, 11 March 2025 (UTC)
- Also, instead of Gitarama and 1961, maybe 1961 and 1961b like at Template:Country data Mongolia, with the flag seeing more brief usage being 1961b? Yue🌙 01:16, 11 March 2025 (UTC)
- I have edited the template in a way that adds "Gitarama" and changes "1961" without breaking existing usages. If you want to find and fix usages of "1959" and "1962", please do so and come back here when you are done to request their removal. – Jonesey95 (talk) 01:19, 11 March 2025 (UTC)
- @Jonesey95: The 1959 usages were remedied. The 1962 ones will take more time without the use of a script. Yue🌙 22:28, 11 March 2025 (UTC)
