Template:Interwiki link

This template creates an interwiki link in which the link target is marked up with the appropriate language code (and for right-to-left languages), for use in discussion pages, documentation, etc.

Avoid using when the link target is not in the language of the target wiki; e.g. for de:A Christmas Carol or de:C’est la vie.

It is not for use in main article space and will throw an error message if it is used there.

It should also not be used for links to sister projects such as Wikidata, Wikimedia Commons, etc.

Usage

The markup:

{{Interwiki link|ca|Viquipèdia}}

produces the equivalent of:

[[:ca:Viquipèdia|ca:{{lang|ca|Viquipèdia}}]]

and renders as:

ca:Viquipèdia

The markup:

{{Interwiki link|hi|विकिपीडिया}}

produces the equivalent of:

[[:hi:विकिपीडिया|hi:{{lang|hi|विकिपीडिया}}]]

and renders as:

hi:विकिपीडिया

The markup:

{{Interwiki link|ar|ويكيبيديا}}

produces the equivalent of:

[[:ar:ويكيبيديا|ar:{{lang|ar|ويكيبيديا}}]]

and renders as:

ar:ويكيبيديا
