Template:Current iOS/doc

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This template gives the current version of iOS. This template is only to be used on articles about iPhones that support the current version of iOS. If an iPhone no longer supports the latest iOS, replace this template with the version of iOS that the device is stuck on.

Per Apple this applies to:

iPhone XS and later, iPad Pro 13-inch, iPad Pro 12.9-inch 3rd generation and later, iPad Pro 11-inch 1st generation and later, iPad Air 3rd generation and later, iPad 7th generation and later, and iPad mini 5th generation and later

Updating this template

[edit]

When updating this page after a new release of iOS, please update all instances of the version (x3), date (x2) and reference (x2). For now, please update this template's short version as well. (It is also likely that {{Current iPadOS}} will need updating too.)

References should cite first-party Apple.com web pages (found at support.apple.com/en-us/121161 and support.apple.com/100100).

When transitioning to a new major release (ie, when Apple releases iOS 19), create the new template for any models stuck on the older version first (in this case, {{Current iOS 18}}), and apply that to all relevant articles before updating this template for the newer release.
