Purpose
[change source]This template links to an audio file for quick listening. It is meant to be used inline with text, for pronunciations and the like. Please note that this just creates a link to the file and does not actually embed the file. This only works if the file is on Wikimedia Commons, or in a few cases, on Simple English Wikipedia.
In contrast to {{audio}}, this template allows a language code to be provided, so that the link text is tagged correctly.
