Italics

I'm not sure if you're right? You may be.

I'm not too familar with MOS but I didn't randomly decide on italics. I would love if you could explain that to me.Scaledish! Talkish? Statish. 00:24, 8 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

You're asking the wrong person: WyoFile is a nonprofit news organization (my emphasis). If editorial consensus changes, sure. I got no nag in this race. Paradoctor (talk) 00:34, 8 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
You're asking the wrong person I was asking you because you made the change. I see other "news organizations" which are italicized in that list. You also didn't change all of the instances, which I will go and do because I don't particularly care. Scaledish! Talkish? Statish. 00:38, 8 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
because you made the change That doesn't make me the right person to ask. I just made the name styling consistent with the article content.
As you're not familiar with MOS, let me enlighten you:
MOS:MAJORWORK says newspapers are italicized
MOS:BADITALICS says proper names—including [...] names of organizations—are [...] not italicized (my emphasis)
As regards the articles you refer to above, first, take heed of WP:USERGENERATED. You need to cite Wikipedia policy/guidelines, they are what determines what is done and what not. Point in case: CalMatters, The Connecticut Mirror, Honolulu Civil Beat, New York Focus are inconsistently italicizing titles referring to organizations, according to their leads. Which means they need fixing, one way or another. Mutatis mutandis, WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS applies here.
Hope that clears it up for you. Paradoctor (talk) 01:03, 8 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
