Seems as if one article, word processor or word processing, is enough. I prefer the word processor article to this one, having used the MT/ST and Lexitron back in the day. Bharshaw 17:14, 29 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This article should be tagged for deletion.

In my opinion this article should be tagged for deletion. It's simply a very verbose definition of a verb based on the "Word processor" article cited above. Also, none of the author's statements of fact are substantiated by references. K. Kellogg-Smith 03:53, 28 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

What's the difference between Desktop publishing, Document processor, and Word processor?

[edit]

There are even these templates with the software examples:

IMO word processors are for simple things, like reports with less than 100 pages. Desktop publishing is for big projects (more than 100 pages and/or more than 10 MB). LyX, based on the philosophy of TeX/LaTeX is in this case a desktop publishing software and not a word processor (one can make books with LyX).
