Add a section for the 2020s

In 2022 alone 2 changes to the world map have occurred:

The Republic of Turkey changed their name to the Republic of Turkiye in May of 2022.

The Russian Federation annexed the Ukrainian Oblasts of Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson on September 30th, 2022; Though not every map will note this.

Not to mention in 2020 the Taliban toppled the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan government and reestablished the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan. Brkmnly (talk) 03:43, 11 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Brkmnly I agree. I have added those three things. Thank you! Lights and freedom (talk) 05:20, 11 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Minor/varying changes

[change source]

Would political border changes, such as occupations and territorial disputes, that are minor, temporary(but still lasting a significant span of time), and varying in their appearance on maps be relevant to include in this article? I'm thinking about the June 5, 1967- April 25, 1982 Israeli occupation of the Sinai peninsula, the changing status and control of the Kashmir region, and the existence of the People's Republic of Kampuchea from 1979–1989. I'm pretty new to Wikipedia, so please correct me if I presented this idea in the wrong place or fashion. Mason7512 (talk) 15:58, 29 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
