Merger proposal
[edit]I think it might be a good idea to merge Transient astronomical event with Time-domain astronomy, as they are basically synonymous since transients events are the topic of study of time-domain astronomy, and neither article is very large as is despite being a pretty significant topic of research in astronomy. - Transient astronomical event has a narrower meaning, as it will be more one-off events. Time-domain astronomy will include other kinds of things such as periodic or movements of solar system objects. So I would support keeping them separate. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 02:31, 8 May 2021 (UTC)
- Yes, transient events are a subtopic of the larger topic. If material was pending for a moderately large article on each, I would support the separation. If that seems unlikely in the next few years, transients will make a good section for the surviving article. Jim.henderson (talk) 23:21, 10 May 2021 (UTC)
Merger complete. Klbrain (talk) 11:48, 10 October 2021 (UTC)
