Panel versus Module

[edit]

There is a convergence of terms that have caused a misunderstanding within this article. A module is a collection of solar cells which are assembled for a particular voltage, current or whatever. A solar panel is a collection of modules. The smart module needs clarification within this context. One must be careful to specify if a smart module is an electrical control circuit for the whole panel or just for a part of it. In other words, does the power optimizer control one module of the panel and thereby is duplicated in each module of the panel, or is there one smart module for the whole panel. - KitchM (talk) 02:32, 10 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
