Wondering why the word "public" was removed from title of article
[edit]Greetings Wikiverse! I am curious why the entry was changed from "Santa Barbara Public Library" to "Santa Barbara Library." In every reference to SBPL (logo, website, publications) the word "public" is included. Free public libraries are supported by the public, as opposed to private libraries that may not be free and open to the public. Anyone just curious and would love to learn more! Thanks. 805Librarian (talk) 16:52, 10 July 2025 (UTC)
