Sadie Kaye Deadname

The person formerly known as Richard Kaye has since transitioned and is now called Sadie Kaye, see here. Does that webpage counts as a reliable source or else what sources should I look for, since she's not published anything since the change of name? 86.26.160.231 (talk) 23:12, 15 October 2023 (UTC)

Seeing as Kaye is a private individual who is not particularly known under either name, this should be fine, assuming we are certain this is the same person. Having updated the name is appropriate and I just went through it :) ~Maplestrip/Mable (chat) 07:44, 16 October 2023 (UTC)

I am not convinced that Sadie Kaye is the same person as Richard Kaye. I know Richard Kaye as a mathematical logician, particularly well-known in the mathematical community for his textbook of early 1990s on models of Peano arithmetic.

Besides, just today I checked his official homepage and there was no mention of "Sadie". The homepage also refers to Kaye's page on Minesweeper.

In my view, the person who proved the NP-completeness of Minesweeper should be called "Richard Kaye" in the Wikipedia entry. IF there is good evidence that the name has been changed, that could be mentioned, with reference, in brackets. Blogician (talk) 09:47, 11 January 2025 (UTC)

This seems like a duplicate article with a heavy WP:OVERLAP. I would recommend it be redirected to or combined with the Good Article. Alternatively, maybe this page could be moved to Minesweeper (genre) and the Microsoft Minesweeper article moved to Minesweeper (video game), but I don't think that is particularly necessary. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ (ᴛ) 09:52, 15 February 2025 (UTC)

No, they're not the same. Minesweeper is a video game genre, and Microsoft Minesweeper is specifically one of the games in this genre. There're many other minesweeper games. SimonWan00 (talk) 09:11, 18 February 2025 (UTC)

• Oppose – We're gonna need separate articles on Microsoft's iconic Minesweeper releases, and minesweeper as a broader genre. I don't know which naming scheme is optimal, but I don't think it's healthy for a gameplay style to be completely dominated by a single company's releases.
