True airspeed

Doesn't a mach number represent indicated airspeed over speed of sound? Seeing as how speed of sound is already a function of pressure, and true airspeed is also a function of pressure, by calling it "true airspeed over speed of sound", you're effectively dividing by static pressure twice. moeburn (talk) 03:37, 29 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
