I agree. This should be merged with List of compilers.

mmm. The compilers on this page should be merged into the List of Compilers.

The IDEs should probably be merged into the List of integrated development environments. Few are C++ specific.

Totally disagree. The List of IDE's is one big mess ordered by the IDE being 'free' or not - it's completely useless, except for 'free'-software freaks.

I have renamed the article and edited out IDE material, because it is better covered by one of the See also links. The only reason I am advocating that this article stay, for now, is because the article to which the merger was proposed (List of compilers) is equally rough and incomplete. However, I'd encourage people to go clean up List of compilers as opposed to continuing their work here and get it to a point where a merger would be appropriate.
