What is 'lied'?

Sorry, I am not a native English speaker, what is 'lied' in 'Lied Library' supposed to mean? I noticed that they also have several other building called 'Lied Something' on the UNLV campus. --68.96.243.122 02:41, 1 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
