Its about Ito, not Markov

[edit]

This seems to be a page about the infinitesimal generator for Ito diffusion, NOT arbitrary Markov processes (or stochastic processes). Perhaps the title/introduction should reflect this?— Preceding unsigned comment added by 198.129.67.78 (talk) 18:33, 16 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Yes. I've put some templates in there to reflect that. Livingthingdan (talk) 23:05, 27 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Domain of a generator

[edit]

The article currently states:

In general, it is not easy to describe the domain of the Feller generator.

This is an understatement, and kind of misleading, as there may be multiple domains. Different domains can have rather radically different properties, something that had me tangled up for years before I realized I could pin it all on the different domains. Which then leads to the next question: what kinds of domains are there, how can they be classified, what are the general implications? I have no clue about this second question. I suppose someone has written something about it, but I don't know what or where. 67.198.37.16 (talk) 03:53, 7 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
