Starting EdenTree page

[edit]

Created EdenTree page on 24 April 2017. I am not an employee or agent of EdenTree, nor do I have any investments in the company. And I did not receive payment in any kind for the creation of the page. My interest is in the general area of Church of England corporate affairs, its historical, cultural and financial links to worlds of insurance and investment. As a major subsidiary of Ecclesiastical Insurance and part of the group's charitable project in relation to Allchurches Trust, I think it merits its own wiki page. And as a financial investment house it certainly qualifies to be included in the many other Investment management companies of the United Kingdom. I am fairly new to Wiki page creation - so please bear with me while I make mistakes, especially pesky citations done incorrectly. Help me become the better wiki editor I hope to be. Thanks. Factual Updates

[edit]

I am a current employee of EdenTree Investment Management and therefore have a conflict of interest. I am requesting the following factual and verifiable updates to correct outdated information on the EdenTree article. All updates are supported by reliable, independent sources.

1. Infobox – Industry

[edit]

Change: “Investment Management & Charity” → “Investment management.”

Reason: EdenTree is not a charity. It operates as a professional investment manager within a charity-owned group but does not conduct charitable activities itself.

Sources:

• UKSIF profile – https://uksif.org/company/edentree-investment-management

• The Investment Association member listing – https://www.theia.org/about-us/members/full/edentree-investment-management-limited

2. Clarification of EdenTree’s Separation From Church/Charity Activities

[edit]

Add to Lead or History:

“Although EdenTree is part of the Benefact Group, a charity-owned financial services group, EdenTree operates as an independent investment management business. It is not a Church body and does not undertake charitable or ecclesiastical activities. Its investment operations are entirely separate from the Church of England and the charity sector, despite its historic origins.”

Reason: The current article over-emphasises historical Church links in a way that implies ongoing governance or operational control, which is no longer accurate.

3. Headquarters & Registered Office

Change:

• Headquarters → London, United Kingdom

• Add registered office → “Benefact House, Gloucester, United Kingdom”

4. Ownership Wording

[edit]

Replace: “subsidiary of Ecclesiastical Insurance Group and wholly owned by Benefact Group.”

With: “EdenTree is part of the Benefact Group (formerly Ecclesiastical Insurance Group), a charity‑owned financial services group.”

[edit]

8. Categories

[edit]
