k is for katayori

I work for a Japanese manufacturing company. Our quality department frequently has to measure Cpk. I have to do translating for some of these technical terms. While researching on the web, my colleague came across http://www.isixsigma.com/library/content/c030304a.asp, which talks about the origin of the 'k' in Cpk. If Cpk, Ppk, and other measurements were indeed developed by the Japanese, then the 'k' comes from the Japanese word 'katayori,' which means an inclination or a leaning to one side. So basically Japan rules and everyone else drools.
