structural versus compositional
[edit]I think the Cincinnati Arch (structural) may sometimes be confused with Ordovician (compositional). The association seems close but not perfect.The uplift resulted in exposure of a lot of Ordovician fossils in particular, as described here. Around the edges of the Ordovician outcrop there is a bit of Silurian and Devonian, also exposed as a consequence of the uplift. ~2025-34664-50 (talk) 23:04, 7 December 2025 (UTC)
