Update

[edit]

This (the charts of most installed and highest grossing apps) is very outdated. Can someone please update it? GamerKlim9716 (talk) 00:15, 30 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Also, what happened to the article that lists the most downloaded smartphone apps overall? I only see articles for each OS now. GamerKlim9716 (talk) 01:11, 30 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

App Store (Apple)App StoreApp StoreWP:DIFFCAPS and WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. The generic concept is called an app store, not an App Store. There is only one notable app store called the "App Store"; the other major app stores are called Google Play, Amazon Appstore, Microsoft Store, and Galaxy Store. (Amazon Appstore is a partial title match.) Note that there is a separate article for the Mac App Store, which is a subtopic of this article and not a contender for the primary topic. Support: The capitalized "A" should make it obvious. The vast majority of people would type in lowercase and land on the general app store article. Only those who deliberately use the proper "App Store" spelling with a capitalized "A" would land on Apple's App Store. Those who search for Apple's App Store and nonetheless type in lowercase would have a disambiguation hatnote, just like it is right now. However, right now you land on the article about app stores in general even when you use the proper spelling of the Apple App Store, which is just weird. New App Store icon

[edit]

iOS 26 brought on a new icon for the App Store. Should the page be updated to use it? From D0nk M3m3s (talk) 01:29, 21 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

A bulletin board is a surface intended for the posting of messages, for example public ones may advertise items wanted or for sale, announce events, or provide information. Bulletin boards are often made of a material such as cork to facilitate addition and removal of messages, as well as a writing surface such as whiteboard or blackboard. A bulletin board which combines a pinboard (corkboard) and writing surface is known as a combination bulletin board. Bulletin boards can also be entirely in the digital domain and placed on computer networks so people can leave and erase messages for other people to read and see, as in a bulletin board system.

@D0nk m3m3s We should put it on a Bulletin Board! Akosijoj005 (talk) 18:45, 25 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

[[The App Store is an app marketplace developed and maintained by Apple, for mobile apps on its iOS and iPadOS operating systems. The store allows users to browse and download approved apps developed within Apple's iOS SDK. Apps can be downloaded on the iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad, and some can be transferred to the Apple Watch smartwatch or 4th-generation or newer Apple TVs as extensions of iPhone apps.]] Akosijoj005 (talk) 18:50, 25 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Apple Games

[edit]

The App Store is now called Apple Games. Can someone please change the title and icon to reflect the new design? ~2025-31991-56 (talk) 15:42, 22 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

The App Store still exists. So does Apple Games in some sense, and often as part of the App Store. — HTGS (talk) 22:43, 23 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
The App Store is still called the App Store, the Game Center stores the data from the gaming apps, like iCloud. It's not an actual app. GamerKlim9716 (talk) 19:54, 7 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Most Installed iOS Apps

[edit]

Can someone please create a separate article for the most installed iOS apps since List of most popular Android apps and List of most-downloaded Google Play applications aren't on the Google Play article. Also, there used to be a most downloaded mobile apps article (across all operating systems) but I don't see it anymore. I'm not sure what happened to it.
