Respell and IPAc-en
[edit]Attempting to create a Respell and an IPAc-en for this page, but not sure about the IPAc-en. I believe the Respell would be awl-ter-iks. Crashcartlogic (talk) 03:40, 17 October 2014 (UTC)

I work for Alteryx and have a disclosed COI. I'd like to improve the page following COI best practices. Below are 12 requested edits that I think will trim promotion and organize the page better. The page will still need a lot of work from there, but my hope is merely an incremental improvement to clean up the worst of the promotion and get the page a bit more organized.
- 1. Section: Infobox
| − | + |
- Explanation: Only the CEO is normally listed in the infobox, whereas listing other executives may be considered directory information (see WP:NOTPRICE #6)
- 2. Section: History
| − | + |
- Explanation: This is a bold claim (being first) cited to a press release.
- 3. Section: History
- Move the below content to the Products section and add "Better source needed" tags to the citations called "SRCOverview" (maybe not reliable) and 10K2021 (primary source)
Proposed move

In 1998, SRC released Allocate, a data engine incorporating geographically organized U.S. Census data that allows users to manipulate, analyze and map data. Solocast was developed in 1998, which was software that allowed customers to do customer segmentation analysis. In 2000, SRC LLC entered into a contract with the U.S. Census Bureau that resulted in a modified version of its Allocate software being included on CD-ROMs of Census Data sold by the Bureau. In 2006, the software product Alteryx was released, which was a unified spatial and non-spatial data environment for building analytical processes and applications. In 2010, SRC LLC changed its name to that of its core product, Alteryx. |
- Explanation: The history section has a lot of product information mixed in and some poor/primary citations. I'm proposing a move for now, but anticipate more work being needed.
- 4. Section: History
| − | + |
- Explanation: Wikipedia's crystal ball policy discourages covering mere plans for the future. Also, the list of investors involved in the funding round feels like overly detailed name-dropping.
- 5. Section: History
| − | + |
- Explanation: Same as above in terms of name-dropping investors and crystal ball plans for the future
- 6. Section: Products
| − | + |
- Explanation: In addition to this product list being too out-dated to be useful, it directly violates the prohibition against product catalogues in WP:NOTPRICE. I'll circle back later with a proposed draft that is a more encyclopedic summary of what the company does.
- 7. Section: Acquisitions
- I suggest merging this section with the History section and replacing all of the press releases, SEC filings, etc. with "Better source needed" tags for now.
- Explanation: Most of these acquisitions probably should be included (do editor(s) prefer a table or sticking to paragraph form?), but I'd like to work on replacing the primary sources with secondary ones.
- 8. Section: Acquisitions
| − | + |
- Explanation: Feels like a tangent to start talking about the history of the acquired company as though the page was about that company.
- 9. Section: Acquisitions
| − | + |
- Explanation: Trim as fragrant promotion
- 10. Section: Acquisitions
- Move the following to the Products section: "In March 2022, Alteryx announced its Analytics Cloud Platform, which it updated to integrate Designer Cloud powered by Trifacta."
- Explanation: To consolidate product info into the products section
- 11. Section: 2017 Data Breach section
- Propose merging the data breach section with the History section per WP:CRIT. Also, right now the section starts with "During the October 2017 data breach mentioned above" referring to the breach already being included in the History section.
- 12. End of History section
| − | In December 2023, it was announced that two private equity firms, Clearlake Capital and Insight Partners, would acquire the company in a US$4.4 billion deal, intending to make it private | + | In December 2023, it was announced that two private equity firms, Clearlake Capital and Insight Partners, would acquire the company in a US$4.4 billion deal, intending to make it private
|
- Explanation: I don't know where the allegation is coming from that it was only intended to be private "until the beginning of the following year", and don't see this in any of the citations.

Go ahead: I have reviewed these proposed changes and suggest that you go ahead and make the proposed changes to the page. Giving partial approval for request 1, 2, 6, 7, 8, 9, 11 for now. As the request is large-scale, this request will have to be re-opened until someone else comes around. I did this partial approval because larger requests tend to get stuck for months waiting. AlphaBetaGamma (Talk/report any mistakes here) 13:57, 1 September 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks @AlphaBetaGamma:! I implemented the approved edits and opened a new edit request for the remaining items below per your instruction, except that I didn't do requested edit #11 above. Because that involves some controversy or criticism (rather than cleaning up promotion) I was hoping you or someone else would make the edit, to avoid any controversy over my making the edit. Let me know if you think that makes sense. Kellychristina2633 (talk) 16:28, 16 October 2025 (UTC)
Requested Edit(s)
[edit]| The user below has a request that an edit be made to Alteryx. That user has an actual or apparent conflict of interest. The requested edits backlog is very high. Please be extremely patient. There are currently 212 requests waiting for review. Please read the instructions for the parameters used by this template for accepting and declining them, and review the request below and make the edit if it is well sourced, neutral, and follows other Wikipedia guidelines and policies. |
I work for Alteryx and have a disclosed COI. I'd like to improve the page following COI best practices. Below are six remaining edit requests I'd like to request an impartial editor review/consider. I started with 12 and @AlphaBetaGamma: approved 7 of them to make the remaining list more manageable for someone else to review. Number 11 AlphaBetaGamma approved and asked me to make, but because it's the one edit that involves a controversy/criticism I'd like to ask someone else make the edit to avoid criticisms of my participation.
The context for the page is that it required a lot of clean-up to remove promotion, poor citations, duplicative content, and product information mingled in with corporate history. My hope is that these edits will give it a big step in the right direction.
- 3. Section: History

Thanks in advance for your time and attention on this. I understand reviewing such requests is a burden on volunteers, especially when we're cleaning up promotion that someone affiliated with Alteryx probably introduced into the page in the first place.
