Systematic element name

From Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Systematic names are given by IUPAC to newly discovered elements. The parts of the names are nil=0, un=1, bi=2, tri=3, quad=4, pent=5, hex=6, sept=7, oct=8, and enn=9. The last part of the name is ium. Element 110's older name was ununnilium (un-un-nil-ium), which means 110, and the same for element 118, ununoctium (un-un-oct-ium), which means 118.
