Semi-protected edit request on 11 January 2024

Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. Rehsarb (talk) 17:50, 11 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Special page edit request

[edit]

Help:Section#Section editing states: Sections can be separately edited by clicking special edit links labeled "[edit source]" by the heading, or by right-clicking on the section heading.

This label was previously just "[edit]" but it was changed to "[edit source]" some months (years?) ago. I've made the relevant change to WP:SECTIONEDIT but have also noticed that the related checkbox in user preferences has not been updated accordingly.

Please change:

Preferences → Gadgets → Appearance → Add an [edit] link for the lead section of a page

To:

Preferences → Gadgets → Appearance → Add an [edit source] link for the lead section of a page

Personally, I think the "[edit source]" label is misleading because I tend to associate the word "source" with citations rather than code. But that's probably just me. Regards, Rodney Baggins (talk) 08:21, 26 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

User:Redrose64 has reverted my edit to Help:Section#Section editing so there is something strange going on. Why am I seeing "[edit source]" at the top of my sections when Redrose is still seeing "[edit]"? Rodney Baggins (talk) 18:01, 26 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Right-clicking of section headings to edit, no longer works on article title

[edit]

Up until recently (this week?) the preference: "Enable section editing by right clicking on section titles" also applied to article titles for section-0. Right-clicking article title now just gives a standard browser menu. Has something changed recently? -Bogger (talk) 13:22, 28 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I am not sure if this is the correct place, but is it possible to change the default color of the gadget "Display links to disambiguation pages in orange" to yellow or something. The orange is difficult to distinguish from a red link. Thanks Metallurgist (talk) 01:54, 17 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
