  • 13:0713:07, 12 July 2025 diff hist −1 m List of Roman emperors Leo I. was called "the Butcher" in the contemporary writings of Malchus of Philapeldphia (MALCHUS, frag 1,3. For Malchus’ criticisms of Leo, see B. BALDWIN, Malchus of Philadelphia Dumbarton Oaks Papers 31 1971, pp. 89-107.). In the Oxford dictionary of Byzantium the term "the tracian" also isnt found and again rather "the butcher" (https://archive.org/details/odb_20210521/page/1206/mode/2up). Additionally historians today also tend to use "the butcher" as stated before with Peter Heather. current Tag: Manual revert
