  • 15:2715:27, 28 December 2022 diff hist −1 Maraging steel Uses: Changed stiffness to strength. I think the original writer made the very common mistake of conflating the two. Almost all steels have a Young's modulus (material stiffness) in a fairly tight range (190-210 GPa), but there is a huge range of yield strengths. Maraging steel is one of the strongest, if not the strongest, steel but its stiffness is nothing special.   • 19:2519:25, 13 July 2017 diff hist +1 Young's modulus Added the word "bending" because I beams have a higher bending stiffness than a round tube, but they have the same axial stiffness. Changed tube to rod, because certain tubes have a higher second moment of area than certain I beams.
