  • 19:0919:09, 13 July 2019 diff hist −3 Belle Gunness Andrew Helgelien and discovery of multiple graves: Removed extraneous space. Done for the day.
  • 19:0819:08, 13 July 2019 diff hist +50 Belle Gunness Note, matter of confessions was improved but is still poor. Arrest of Elisabeth Smith is dangling fact; arrest is not conviction; NEEDS SECONDARY SCRS. Moved "better source" tag into the reflist. Reviewed the {{cn}} tags. Note, some cn's mark places where, earlier, a citation to a google search, or citations to a Wikipedia article appeared. Hence, for this reason of editorial history—and bec only source in most those cases is 1910 newspaper article—the {{cn}} tags for those are left in place.
  • 18:5418:54, 13 July 2019 diff hist +18 Belle Gunness Unsourced number of deaths in infobox (25 appears nowhere in article) removed; number of deaths changed to best sourced data (WSJ). Prior appearing "25–40 (unverified)" moved to in-text <!--note-->
  • 18:5118:51, 13 July 2019 diff hist +24 Belle Gunness Clarifying the internal contradiction issue, for subsequent research and clarification by dedicated article editors. Note please, despite presence of template messages, this was not a drive-by... substantive correction/improvements were made to prior source formats, and text copy, and a large block of clearly sourced new material was added.
  • 18:4618:46, 13 July 2019 diff hist +71 Belle Gunness Condensed all template messages using multiple issues markup.
  • 18:4218:42, 13 July 2019 diff hist −50 Belle Gunness In keeping with the principle of correcting the biggest problems first, I am removing the primary source tag for the poorly cited second confession source, page 16 of which is cited, for which we have no URL, have no firm publication date or publisher. This is the first problem to solve. But being written by a participant in the process, and purporting to be a confession of a principle criminal involved—this still is a primary source.
  • 18:3818:38, 13 July 2019 diff hist +176 Belle Gunness I did what could to reincorporate intervening changes. Apologise for not posting in-process header. Note, 1st, newspapers are triggered primary source tag, these remain 1/3 (not 2/3!) of overall sources, and only sources for content, that section. So, primary srcs still a major problem for article. Also, matter of no. of deaths—for person whose notability entirely based on being serial killer—is poorly presented/sourced. Needs more than authorless/sourceless biography.com!
  • 18:2518:25, 13 July 2019 diff hist +2,897 Belle Gunness Deaths associated with Gunness: Note to intervening editor—please pause, I will re-add the relevant of your changes. Here in this near to final edit, I added section covering the bulk of the discoveries that lead to the conclusion that the title subject was a mass murderer. Edit forward as you will, given the limitations of this single-source edit; but please do not return the article to content that near to entirely lacks substance around the main point of the subject's notability.
  • 17:3217:32, 13 July 2019 diff hist +482 Belle Gunness Legacy: Checked and completed MLive reference. Corrected Schecter 2003/2004 book reference, providing a meaningful URL. Noted absence of page number. Added page numbers to next two books, and made citation formatting uniform.
  • 16:5716:57, 13 July 2019 diff hist +159 User talk:Justlettersandnumbers/old5 Thank you: new section
  • 16:5216:52, 13 July 2019 diff hist +227 Belle Gunness "Crimes" section label changed, because section includes Peter Gunness, about whom ascription of a crime is speculative. Edited Legacy section. Adding the primary sources tag to the top of the article, to invite editors not to continue this trend. (As of this date stamp, of eighteen total sources, seven are primary (and all are without weblinks)—including a key purported confession document, appearing in an untraceable format (no firm date, no publisher, etc.).
  • 16:2616:26, 13 July 2019 diff hist +1,350 Belle Gunness Ray Lamphere: Formatted all newspaper refs with fields to allow URLs, access dates. Clarified existence of two confessions (to police, to Schell). Removed gratuitously editorializing sentence: "This document likely still exists... should be used as a reference." Note, refs 4-9—a full 2/3 of this section's sources—are primary sources dating to event; WP:OR appearance is clear. Secondary, tertiary sources needed for all purported facts, per WP policy/guidelines.
  • 15:2615:26, 13 July 2019 diff hist −142 Belle Gunness Legacy: The Google source is not a source, but the entree point for a SEARCH of sources. Not an appropriate citation, at all. Redacted: <ref>{{Cite web|url=https://news.google.com/newspapers?hl=en|title=Google News Archive Search|website=news.google.com|access-date=2019-05-08}}</ref> Tag: references removed
  • 15:2115:21, 13 July 2019 diff hist −22 Belle Gunness Ray Lamphere: Removed two last citations of a WP article. See last edit summary.
  • 15:1915:19, 13 July 2019 diff hist −223 Belle Gunness Ray Lamphere: Removed duplicate citation, and began removing citations to WIkipedia—neither Wikilinks nor formal citation of WP are allowed in replacement of cited sources in each article. If another article cites a source, that source must be moved here. Redacted: <ref name=":2">{{Citation|title=Edward Bechly|date=2018-09-16|url=https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Edward_Bechly&oldid=859886217|work=Wikipedia|language=en|access-date=2019-05-08}}</ref>
