History
[edit]SalvageData Recovery was established in 2003 in Cleveland, Ohio. Over the following years, the company expanded its network of receiving and evaluation centers to more than 100 locations across the United States and Canada.[5][6]
In 2022, the company launched a mobile application on Google Play and the Apple App Store to allow customers to track the status of their data recovery cases.[7]
In 2024 it partnered with FedEx Office allwowing to drop off devices across USA.[8]
Security certifications
[edit]The company complies with FIPS 140-2 and FIPS 140-3 federal standards.[9] It is HIPAA‑compliant when managing protected health information as a business associate in healthcare workflows.[10][11] Additionally, SalvageData undergoes annual SOC 2 Type III audits to validate its controls for security, availability, and confidentiality. As a GSA contract holder, the company is pre-approved to deliver data recovery services to U.S. government agencies under stringent federal procurement guidelines.[12][13]
