Contents

[edit]

Rivals Quick Start Set is a card set in which a streamlined quick-start package is aimed at complete newcomers. It includes two carefully ordered preconstructed decks and two personalized rulebooks, each guiding a player through their first games in a hands-on fashion. Instead of presenting rules abstractly, the set walks players through gameplay turn by turn, with every card appearing in a predictable sequence.[1]

Reception

[edit]

Paul Pettengale reviewed Magic: The Gathering Introductory Two-Player Set for Arcane magazine, rating it an 8 out of 10 overall, and stated that "For people who've not played Magic before, and haven't got a mate who plays and who can teach them, this is a perfect method of learning the game with the minimum of fuss. The decks are good (and fun), the rulebooks are so simple a chimp could follow them, and it makes learning the game fast."[1]
