Rajab Ali Butt[a] (born 28 December 1994) is a Pakistani influencer and social media personality. As of July 2025, he has over 7 million subscribers and 2 billion video views across his YouTube channel. Known for his family vlogs, Butt has attracted numerous controversies, including two blasphemy cases in 2025.
Early life and family
[edit]Rajab Ali Butt was born on 28 December 1994 in Lahore, Punjab, into a Punjabi Shia Muslim family belonging to the Butt caste.[2][3] He has a sister named Ghazal Jawad.[4]
YouTube and online career
[edit]Rajab Butt registered his account on YouTube under the username "Rajab's Family" on 11 March 2023 with his video theme being centered around family vlogging.[5] In March 2024 and April 2024, he received the Silver Play Button and Golden Play Button, respectively.[6]
Rajab Butt's rise to fame was not without controversy, with him being criticised for mistreating his family members.[7] He has also received backlash from conservatives for showing indecency and lavishness in his videos.[8] His wedding was, particularly, highlighted in which he came under fire for flashy display of large sums of wealth.[9] In the aftermath of the wedding, Butt was arrested for illegally owning a lion cub that was gifted to him during the event.[10][11]
March 2025 blasphemy case
[edit]In March 2025, Butt uploaded a video in which he launched his perfume brand named "295", drawing parallel to his "mentor" Sidhu Moose Wala's song "295".[12] The number "295" also refers to the blasphemy law in the Pakistan Penal Code.[12] In the video, Butt proudly proclaimed that Moose Wala had been charged with similar blasphemous laws and he himself also got charged with it.[12] This video generated considerable controversy in Pakistan.[13][14] Members of the Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP), a far-right terrorist organization, registered a first information report (FIR) against Butt under Section 295-A of the Pakistan Penal Code. Butt fled from Lahore to Saudi Arabia and issued an apology video from the Kaaba in Mecca.[15]
July 2025 blasphemy case
[edit]In July 2025, in the wake of Muharram, during which Shia Muslims mourn on Ashura, Butt uploaded a series of videos regarding the Shia mourning of Muharram. During this time, a video of Butt went viral in which he said "Curse me upon Yazid's ancestors", directing a curse at Yazid's father Muawiya, who is honored by Sunni Muslims as a companion of the Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him.[16] Supporters of the Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) filed a case against him in the National Cyber Crime Agency.[17]
Online courses
[edit]In January 2025, Butt announced to launch an online paid course along with fellow influencers Ducky Bhai and Nadeem Mubarak.[18][19] However, due to much backlash, the course was cancelled.[20]
