Radhika Bhide is an Indian composer, producer, singer-songwriter and vocalist from Ratnagiri, Maharashtra. She gained recognition as a contestant on the Indian reality music show I-Popstar (I-Popstar Reality Show – Season 1). She is known for her blend of Marathi folk and contemporary pop elements.[1]
Early life and education
[edit]Radhika Bhide was born and raised in Ratnagiri, a coastal city in Maharashtra. From an early age, she was drawn to music and began singing at local cultural events. She has worked as a freelance music director, composer and producer since 2018, providing composition, production and vocal services for independent releases and regional projects. She is also active as a singer-songwriter and music teacher, and is based in Mumbai while undertaking remote freelance work.[2]
Career
[edit]Bhide rose to fame after participating in the reality show I Popstar, which brought attention[3] to emerging independent singers from across India.[4] Her performance of the song "Man Dhavataya" on the show went viral on social media for its blend of Marathi lyrics and modern pop production.[5][6]
Following the success of Man Dhavataya, she continued to release original compositions and independent singles that combine regional sounds with modern production. Her subsequent release was "Thode Thode Wate Jag Nawe".[7] Her sound has been described as a fusion of folk textures, soft pop melodies, and contemporary indie production.[8][9][10]
