Pattern Inc. is an American software and ecommerce acceleration company that helps consumer‑product brands grow sales and protect brand equity on online marketplaces such as Amazon, Walmart Marketplace, Tmall and Mercado Libre. The company combines proprietary data analytics software with digital merchandising, advertising and logistics services, operating primarily on a wholesale retail model.
History
[edit]Pattern was founded in 2013 by entrepreneurs David Wright and Melanie Alder as iServe, a third‑party Amazon seller of health‑and‑beauty products, operating out of Alder's living room. Seeking to expand into analytics and full‑service marketplace trading, the company rebranded to Pattern in March 2018.
In 2020, Pattern raised US$52 million in a Series A funding round co-led by Ainge Advisory and KSV Global.[1] The company followed with a US$225 million Series B round in September 2021, led by Knox Lane Investments, and hit double unicorn status with a $2B valuation.[2]
Between 2022 and 2024 Pattern expanded to 18 offices worldwide, including London, Dubai, São Paulo, Shanghai and Melbourne. Notable acquisitions include the digital‑asset‑management vendor Amplifi.io in February 2023,[3] and the influencer marketing platform Current in August 2024.[4]
Products and services
[edit]Pattern describes its core offering as "retail‑as‑a‑service", in which it purchases inventory from partner brands and sells it directly on more than 60 digital marketplaces worldwide.[5] Pattern also offers a selection of their software to subscription SaaS customers. Key products include:
Predict – software providing predictive demand forecasting, price optimisation and share‑of‑voice tracking.
Pattern Accelerator – tools and managed services for product‑listing optimisation, content localisation and paid‑media management.
Global Logistics – fulfilment centres in the United States, Canada, the European Union, the United Kingdom, the Middle East and China.
