OpenPayd is a London-based banking-as-a-service platform that provides financial services for businesses through a single API.
History
[edit]OpenPayd was founded in London in 2018 by Ozan Özerk, the founder of European Merchant Bank, MSB.US, and Ozan SuperApp.[1][2] It initially focused on payments and banking for businesses through modular technology and a global license network.[3] The company expanded its operations internationally from the UK, opening offices in US, Canada, Malta, Bulgaria, Turkey and France.[4][5]
In 2020, OpenPayd launched banking and payment services for digital currency businesses, allowing them to access banking and payment networks.[6]
In 2022, OpenPayd began offering Open Banking across the UK and Europe.[7] In 2023, OpenPayd was "Highly Commended" in the Paytech Company of the Year category at the Fintech Awards London.[8]
Operations
[edit]OpenPayd gives access to Faster Payments, SEPA, SEPA Instant, SWIFT, CHAPS, Bacs, ACH, PIX, Fedwire, etc. OpenPayd’s FX services give automated spot-pricing and instant settlements for businesses operating in multiple currencies.[9][10][11][12]
The platform serves various industries, including financial services, brokerage, and digital assets.[citation needed] Customers include eToro,[13] OKX,[14] Libertex,[15] B2C2,[16] Bitfinex[17] and Caxton.[18] OpenPayd processes over €50 billion in annual payment volume.[19]
