Acronyms

[edit]

Could editors please do something to improve the accessibility of the acronyms in this template? The acronym TBA is not properly explained. This is an encyclopedia, somebody somewhere wont know what that acronym means. Wikipedia is committed to accessibility and acronyms should normally have tooltips to explain what they mean. I would expect that the formatting of Template:TBA or Template:TableTBA could be copied here instead of overloading Template:NA a semantically meaningful template could be used. (If template programmers could check with accessibility designers or user of screen reading software to make sure their requirements are not being overlooked that would be even better.) -- 109.76.128.55 (talk) 02:01, 4 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

 Done Valid accessability request. Changed frame:expandTemplate{title='N/A',args={'TBA'}} to tableEmptyCellModule._main({}), similar to what Module:Episode list uses. -- Alex_21 TALK 03:38, 4 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. -- 109.77.199.220 (talk) 16:07, 5 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Category:Articles using Template:Series overview with deprecated start-parameter format

[edit]

There is an issue with the code that is triggering this category, it is picking up examples like List of Star Wars television series where there is a start and end parameter but the end parameter is empty. This is a valid use of the template, we don't always know an end date when we know a start date. - adamstom97 (talk) 13:24, 20 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Aux parameters don't auto span with split seasons

[edit]

When using the table for a single series (ie not a multi-use/franchise situation), the aux parameter does not auto span when a split season is used, which is not what the documentation says. See Marvel Studios: Legends for what I mean. I set |auxA2A= with the assumption it would cover both "auxA2A" and "auxA2B" since the next "auxA" introduction is |auxA3=. However it initially gave me issues because a span wasn't set. Just flagging if this should be changed in the code, or if not, then clarified in the documentation. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 16:27, 27 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Info spans require multiseries

This is a bit of an odd issue that I've just encountered. Please see the example below:

Both templates have a infoB1span, however; it only takes effect in the multiseries version of the template. Is this an intentional design choice? If so, it should probably be documented. If not, could we call this a bug and perhaps see if there's a fix? I have a workaround on Real Rescues but it's to wrap the series in a multi rather than copy and pasting information. ~ Matthewrb Get in touch · Breadcrumbs 06:36, 2 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Neither examples should use that column for the status. The release dates already show the release status. Do you have a real-world example of where this is an issue? Gonnym (talk) 10:21, 2 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Sure! The examples in this page were stripped down from the documentation page, mostly to make sure I wasn’t going completely crazy.
As I noted in my original comment, Real Rescues required a workaround to display narrators as a spanned info column. In the wikitext, the series overview is a multiseries. ~ Matthewrb Get in touch · Breadcrumbs 16:37, 2 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

The span parameters aren't working. --Gonnym (talk) 22:16, 2 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Alex 21 any idea? Gonnym (talk) 22:17, 2 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hey hey, thanks for the ping. As far as I can recall, spanning info column cells was never implemented for standard single-series overviews, only multi-series overviews, as they're the only ones that have really needed it for showrunners and series status. However, the aux and postaux columns don't have this issue and do have spanning abilities, as can be seen with my latest update to Real Rescues. -- Alex_21 TALK 22:40, 2 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I mean, that makes sense, and the update to Real Rescues does work. I've BOLDly updated the documentation to clarify, feel free to revise. Thanks for all the help! ~ Matthewrb Get in touch · Breadcrumbs 06:24, 3 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
