OpenLibrary

[edit]

Hoi, many books are available for reading at openlibrary, it is a project of the InternetArchive. Many identifiers for many authors are available at Wikidata.. The proposal is to include them in this template. Thanks, GerardM (talk) 09:21, 25 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Libraries Australia

[edit]

Suggest removing Libraries Australia ID (P409) from the template because it seems to be permanently down — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 19:44, 20 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Agree, is probably superseded by NLA Trove people ID (P1315). Grimes2 15:39, 21 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Base Léonore (P11152)

[edit]

Could we add a link to Base Léonore, the official database of recipients of the Legion of Honour?

The numeric code stored in Léonore Web ID (P11152) would need to be added at the end of this url:

https://www.leonore.archives-nationales.culture.gouv.fr/ui/notice/{id goes here}

Here's an example: https://www.leonore.archives-nationales.culture.gouv.fr/ui/notice/222703 (from this person: https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q80582 ).

Links to this database used to be included, but the Archives National redesigned their site in 2021 and broke all the incoming links. This new wikidata property was introduced to mend them again. I've added it to the sandbox and here is an example — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 10:12, 12 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Looks good! Chuntuk (talk) 11:56, 12 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Okay. Will leave it a few days to see if anyone has any comments — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 12:32, 12 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
[edit]

We don't generally include links to internal Wikipedia pages in article space. From Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Linking, "In articles, do not link to pages outside the article namespace ..." However we are linking Help:Authority control in this template. Would it be better to link to Authority control instead, or alternatively remove the link? — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 09:22, 16 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Valid standpoint. Better is to link to Authority control. The hatnote of this article is Help:Authority control. Grimes2 16:23, 16 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
