Raja Mahrok bin Raik (Sindhi: راڄا مهروڪ بن رائق) was the Hindu Raja of Aror. He ruled as a subordinate to Habbari Rulers Umar ibn'Abd al-Aziz al'Habbari and Abdullah ibn Umar ibn'Abd al-Aziz al'Habbari.[1]
Interest in Islam
[edit]During 883-84 AD, Raja Mahrok wrote to Abdullah ibn Umar to send him a book on Islamic beliefs and education in Sindhi.[2] A book on the subject, written in verse by an Iraqi scholar residing in Mansura, was sent to Raja Mahrok, who asked Abdullah to also send the scholar.[3]
Quran translated into Sindhi
[edit]Between 884 and 887 AD, scholar sent by Abdullah Bin Habari translated the Quran into Sindhi prose at the request of Raja Mahrok, who hosted the scholar during this period.[4]
