LeAnne Howe (Oklahoma, 1951) és una escriptora choctaw. Graduada en literatura i periodisme per la Universitat d'Oklahoma, viu a Iowa i la seva obra és molt autobiogràfica.
Honors i premis
[modifica]- Va rebre el premi del Llibre Americà de la Fundació Before Columbus de l'any 2002 per la seva novel·la Shell Shaker.[1]
- El 2006, el recull de poesia de Howe Evidence of Red (Salt Publishing, Regne Unit 2005) va guanyar el Oklahoma Book Award.[2]
- L'any 2012, Howe va rebre un premi United States Artists Fellow.[3]
- El 2015, Howe va rebre el primer Premi MLA per a Estudis sobre Literatures, Cultures i Llengües Natives Americanes per la seva segona novel·la, titulada Choctalking On Other Realities (Aunt Lute Books, 2013).[4]
