라이오넬 토마스 캐스월 롤트(Lionel Thomas Caswell Rolt, 1910년 2월 11일 ~ 1974년 5월 9일)[1][2], 줄여서 톰 롤트(Tom Rolt) 또는 L. T. C. 롤트(L. T. C. Rolt)는 잉글랜드의 작가이자 이점바드 킹덤 브루넬과 토머스 텔포드 등 주요 토목공학자의 전기를 쓴 전기 작가였다. 또한 영국 내륙 수로 레저 크루즈 산업의 선구자 중 한 명이자, 빈티지 자동차 및 보존철도 애호가로, 운하와 철도 보존 운동 모두에서 선구적인 역할을 했다.
업적
[편집]롤트는 롤트 상을 제정한 뉴커먼 소사이어티이 부회장을 역임했다.[3] 또한 과학박물관의 신탁 관리자 및 자문위원회 위원, 요크 철도 박물관위원회 위원, 뉴캐슬 대학교 명예 석사, 배스 대학교 명예 석사(1973)이자[3] 왕립문학학회의 회원이었다. 산업 고고학 협회의 공동 창립자였으며, 매년 롤트 강의를 개최한다. 또한 아이언브리지 협곡 박물관 트러스트를 설립하는데 도움을 주었다.
1991년 세계 최초의 보존철도인 탈릴린 철도의 기차 톰 롤트는 롤트의 이름을 따서 명명되었다.
