Jon-Paul Gates

Jon-Paul Gates (* 1978 in Greenford, Middlesex, England als Jon Morrey) ist ein britischer Schauspieler, Drehbuchautor, Filmproduzent und Filmregisseur.

Leben

Gates wurde in Greenford geboren. Neben seiner Muttersprache Englisch spricht er gutes Französisch und Spanisch. Den größten Teil seiner Kindheit verbrachte er in einem Dorf in der Nähe von Doncaster in der englischen Grafschaft South Yorkshire. Als ersten Berufswunsch verfolgte er eine Karriere als Profifußballspieler, musste aufgrund einer Verletzung davon allerdings Abstand nehmen. Danach fand er den Weg in die Filmindustrie. Er ist Absolvent der Humberside University. Erste Schritte als Fernsehschauspieler machte er im Alter von 17 Jahren zum Anfang der 1990er Jahre in der BBC-Fernsehserie Eldorado. Seit Mitte der 1990er Jahre ist er regelmäßig als Film- und Fernsehschauspieler zu sehen. 2006 stellte er im Fantasyfilm Dragon – Die Drachentöter die Rolle des Lord Artemir dar. Seit dem war er in über 100 weiteren Filmproduktionen zu sehen und ist seit Mitte der 2010er Jahre zusätzlich als Filmschaffender tätig.
