Jafaraki language

From Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Jafaraki is a spoken language in the Musakhel District of Balochistan province of Pakistan.[1] Its intelligibility with Dogri is 80%.[2][unreliable source?]

The language Jafaraki mixed vocabulary borrowed mainly from languages like Urdu, Khetrani, Sindhi, Hindi, Saraiki, Turkish, Persian, Pashto, Jatki, Balochi, Punjabi, and Hindko. The language is purported to have originated from the interaction of Sanskrit, which was once spoken in the area, with Pashto. Many of the old place names still in use in Jafaraki are derived from Sanskrit.[1]
