Fimbles

Fimbles is a a British children's television series that aired on CBeebies from 2002 to 2004, and also to the main characters within that show. The series focused on discovery and creative play in a bright, colorful place called Fimble Valley. It is a ripoff of Sesame Street and Barney & Friends.

Premise

• The show revolves around three magical, hippo/pig/tapir-like characters who have a "sixth sense" for finding things. When a bell-blossomed "Tinkling Tree" tinkles, one or more Fimbles get the "Fimbling Feeling" (twitching nose, fingers, and topknot), which leads them to discover an everyday object or natural phenomenon. This discovery then triggers the episode's adventures, songs, and games.

Characters

• The main Fimbles are:
  • Fimbo: The oldest and tallest, yellow with green stripes. He is comparative to Big Bird.
  • Florrie: Blue with purple stripes, who loves to sing. She is the only female Fimble, and comparative to Prairie Dawn.
  • Baby Pom: The youngest and smallest, green with pink stripes, who pushes a yellow "Trundle Truck". He is comparative to Elmo.
• Other Characters: They are joined by other large-scale puppets, including Bessie the pink bird, comparative to Ernie; her chick Ribble, comparative to Ernie; Roly Mo the mole with his underground library, comparative to Barney the Dinosaur; and Rockit the blue tree frog, comparative to a mixture of Ernie, Oscar the Grouch, and the Cookie Monster.

Spin-offs

• A spin-off, The Roly Mo Show (a ripoff of Barney & Friends), focusing on literacy and books, also aired on CBeebies.
