This is incorrect. Thozhiyur church was formed by Mar Cyril ( Rabban Kattumangatt). He was consecrated as a Bishop by the Syriac Orthodox Bishop, Mar Gregory who came along with the Catholicos Mar John. Due to the fight between Mar Dionysius I and Mar Cyril, Mar Cyril got expelled from the state to Anjoor where he formed an independent church. The formation of this Church has nothing to do with being independent of Patriarch of Antioch. This is small church since its formation with only few thousands of members.

From where did you get this ? The members of this church were the followers of Bishop Mellus, who was a Chaldean Bishop who came in 1882. They joined Assyrian Church only in 1907, that is because Chaldean Patriach could not consecrate a Bishop for them. What you wrote is completely wrong.
