William Harkleroad (born June 26, 2003) is a student at the University of Kansas and a candidate for the KU Student Senate in the Spring 2025 elections. He has been involved in student government affairs, particularly in discussions surrounding student fees and budgeting. He is originally from Cedarville, Ohio.

Student Senate Involvement

Harkleroad has played an active role in student government at the University of Kansas. In February 2025, he was involved in debates regarding a student fee bill that was rejected by the Student Senate Finance Council, leading to further revisions in committee.[1]

In March 2025, the Finance Council passed a proposed budget bill after revisions, reflecting ongoing discussions within the student government regarding financial allocations.[2]

Harkleroad announced his candidacy for the KU Student Senate in the Spring 2025 elections. His platform focuses on transparency in student government, particularly regarding financial decisions and the role of the student newspaper, The University Daily Kansan.[3]
