On May 22, 2023, Willamette University announced the new School of Computing and Information Sciences, becoming the fifth school within the university. [1] The school launched in 2024, with programs at the main Salem campus, and at the new Graduate and Professional Center in Portland's Pearl District. [2] The school was designed to support the growing computer science and data science programs at Willamette.

The School of Computing and Information Sciences houses undergraduate degrees in computer science, statistics, and data science, as well as a master's degree in computer science and a master's degree in data science. There is also a combined BS/MA program for students to earn their bachelor's degree and master's degree in data science at the same time.[3] All programs combine a liberal arts approach with a dedicated focus to career prospects and opportunities.
